Eaton on the nameplate

Eaton bought Cutler-Hammer in 1978. On January 31, 1994 it bought the Westinghouse Distribution and Control Business Unit and combined it with its own operations to form the Cutler-Hammer business.

Eaton completed its purchase of Cooper Industries on November 30, 2012, adding Cooper Power Systems utility transformers, regulators and reclosers.

Eaton sells low voltage dry-type transformers and Mini-Power Centers alongside the Cooper utility line, which is still built in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Reading the plate: Older Eaton dry-types often carry the Cutler-Hammer name. The catalog number, for example V48M28T75EE, carries the primary, secondary and kVA codes.

FAQ
