How to read a Eaton Cutler-Hammer DH heavy duty safety switch catalog number.
DH is heavy duty. Next digit is poles. Next is voltage (2 = 240 Vac, 6 = 600 Vac). Next is amps (1 = 30, 2 = 60, 3 = 100, 4 = 200, 5 = 400, 6 = 600, 7 = 800, 8 = 1200 A). Then the type letter: F = fusible without neutral, N = fusible with neutral, U = non-fusible. Then the enclosure letter: G = NEMA 1, R = NEMA 3R, D = NEMA 12/3R, W = NEMA 4X 304 stainless. The final letter is a design code (K on most ratings, C on 1200 A).
Not sure? Type it into the catalog lookup or text a photo of the label.
- Stainless W suffix and NEMA 12 D suffix enclosures are worth more than painted NEMA 1.
- 400 to 1200 A switches carry far more value than 30 and 60 A units.
- New in the box with intact labels brings the most.
- We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
Eaton DH numbers put the type and enclosure letters after the rating digits, unlike Square D, so DH363URK reads as 3 pole, 600 V, 100 A, non-fused, NEMA 3R. The 1200 A units end in C instead of K. Eaton markets these with a visible double break rotary blade and triple padlocking.

The label
The catalog number, straight on and in focus. For a pallet, one label per model plus a count.
The unit
Front, sides, and anything damaged. Doors open if it has them.
The lot
The whole pallet or shelf. New in box: the box labels.
The label is inside the door. The catalog number on it encodes duty, poles, voltage, amps, fusible or not, and the enclosure. That one photo is usually all we need.
