How to read a Siemens HF and HNF heavy duty safety switch catalog number.
HF is heavy duty fusible and HNF is heavy duty non-fusible. Next digit is poles, next is voltage (2 = 240 Vac, 6 = 600 Vac), last is amps (1 = 30, 2 = 60, 3 = 100, 4 = 200, 5 = 400, 6 = 600, 7 = 800, 8 = 1200 A). N adds a neutral. Enclosure suffix: none = NEMA 1, R = NEMA 3R, J = NEMA 12, S = NEMA 4X 304 stainless.
Not sure? Type it into the catalog lookup or text a photo of the label.
- Stainless S suffix and NEMA 12 J suffix units are worth more than NEMA 1.
- 400 to 1200 A switches carry far more value than 30 and 60 A units.
- New in the box with labels intact brings the most.
- We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
Siemens calls its heavy duty line Type VBII, and its cross-reference lists the older Vacu-Break equivalents, such as F351 for an HF361. Murray branded heavy duty switches used HHN and HUN prefixes for the same ratings. The HF numbering reads like Square D, with the type letters in front and the enclosure letter at the end.
Three photos price most Siemens HF and HNF heavy duty safety switch offers.
The label
The catalog number, straight on and in focus. For a pallet, one label per model plus a count.
The unit
Front, sides, and anything damaged. Doors open if it has them.
The lot
The whole pallet or shelf. New in box: the box labels.
The label is inside the door. The catalog number on it encodes duty, poles, voltage, amps, fusible or not, and the enclosure. That one photo is usually all we need.

Freight: Small switches palletize. A 30A switch is a few pounds; 800A and 1200A switches are hundreds. Liftgate trucks cover most loads.
Selling a Siemens HF and HNF heavy duty safety switch: what people ask.
Yes. We buy Vacu-Break, Murray and current Siemens heavy duty switches in any condition.
Yes. Non-fusible switches are bought the same way as fusible.
A photo of the inside door label and the enclosure.
Both. New surplus, used, untested, and failed all sell. Condition sets the number, not whether we buy.
