The data plate shows type, voltage class, BIL and serial number. NOVA serial numbers use the format CP57######Y, where the final letter codes the interface (for example H for 120 Vac auxiliary-powered, B for control-powered with 120 Vac heater). Photograph the data plate and the control receptacle.

- Solid polymer construction means there is no oil to sample or drain.
- 38 kV and 16 kA units are less common than standard 15 kV units.
- Matching control type and cable add value.
- Undamaged polymer sheds and bushings matter.
- We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
The interface type decides which controls will work: control-powered NOVAs use a 19-pin cable and need a VTC-ready control, while auxiliary-powered NOVAs use 14-pin and 2-pin receptacles and run with Form 4C, Form 4D, Form 5, Form 6 and FXB controls. Eaton states the NOVA is not compatible with Form 2, Form 3 or Form 3A controls. Units from serial CP571192790 on carry a 170 kV BIL on the 38 kV class; earlier ones are rated 150 kV or less, as stamped on the nameplate.
Three photos price most Cooper NOVA recloser offers.
The label
The catalog number, straight on and in focus. For a pallet, one label per model plus a count.
The unit
Front, sides, and anything damaged. Doors open if it has them.
The lot
The whole pallet or shelf. New in box: the box labels.
The nameplate is on the recloser head or tank. Photograph it with the type, voltage, continuous current, and interrupting rating in frame. Photograph the control nameplate and the control face separately.
- 01Send the nameplate
Photos or a list with counts. Text, email, or the form.
- 02We read it and reply
During business hours, by whatever contact method you picked.
- 03You get a written offer
Per unit or per lot. A range if we need to sample or test, firm after. Freight is in the number.
- 04We pick up and pay
Our truck and our rigging. Wire or ACH within 3 business days of a passed inspection.
Freight: Single-phase hydraulic reclosers are light enough for a liftgate truck. Three-phase units and their frames need a forklift or crane. We plan it.
Selling a Cooper NOVA recloser: what people ask.
Yes. We buy the recloser alone, the control alone, or both.
Look at the receptacles: control-powered units have a 19-pin receptacle, auxiliary-powered units have 14-pin and 2-pin receptacles. The last letter of the serial number also codes it.
Yes. New surplus is in scope. Send the data plate and crate label.
Both. New surplus, used, untested, and failed all sell. Condition sets the number, not whether we buy.
Oil-filled units built before 1980 may contain PCBs. We sample before an offer is final and handle the paperwork. We do not give disposal guidance on the web.
