The nameplate is on the head under the sleet hood. Serial number matters: Eaton manuals split by serial number (for example RX serial 679 and after, RV serial 4111 and after), and serials beginning CP57 are Cooper Power Systems numbering. Photograph the nameplate, counter and bushings.
| Type | Three-phase, oil-interrupting, oil-insulated automatic circuit reclosers; R, RX and RV are hydraulically controlled, RE, RXE and RVE are electronically controlled |

| Oil | RX tank holds about 41 U.S. gallons |
- These are older designs, so most units sell on condition and metal content.
- Electronically controlled RE, RXE and RVE units need a separate 14-pin electronic control to operate.
- Oil condition and counter reading indicate remaining duty.
- Units built before 1980 may contain PCBs; we sample before an offer is final.
- We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
In the Kyle naming, a V placed after the R (RV) marks the 34.5 kV version, not vacuum: the RV maintenance manual describes it as an oil-interrupting, hydraulically controlled recloser rated 400 A at 34.5 kV. An E at the end of the type marks electronic control. RXE reclosers trip, reclose and lock out all three phases together. Hydraulic Type R reclosers reset gradually after a temporary fault, at roughly 90 seconds per operation at 25 C.

The label
The catalog number, straight on and in focus. For a pallet, one label per model plus a count.
The unit
Front, sides, and anything damaged. Doors open if it has them.
The lot
The whole pallet or shelf. New in box: the box labels.
The nameplate is on the recloser head or tank. Photograph it with the type, voltage, continuous current, and interrupting rating in frame. Photograph the control nameplate and the control face separately.
- 01Send the nameplate
Photos or a list with counts. Text, email, or the form.
- 02We read it and reply
During business hours, by whatever contact method you picked.
- 03You get a written offer
Per unit or per lot. A range if we need to sample or test, firm after. Freight is in the number.
- 04We pick up and pay
Our truck and our rigging. Wire or ACH within 3 business days of a passed inspection.
Freight: Single-phase hydraulic reclosers are light enough for a liftgate truck. Three-phase units and their frames need a forklift or crane. We plan it.
Selling a Cooper Kyle Type R recloser: what people ask.
Yes. We buy them in any condition. Units built before 1980 may contain PCBs; we sample before an offer is final.
No. We buy the recloser with or without its control. A matching control adds value.
No. In this family the V after the R marks the 34.5 kV rating. The RV interrupts in oil.
Both. New surplus, used, untested, and failed all sell. Condition sets the number, not whether we buy.
Oil-filled units built before 1980 may contain PCBs. We sample before an offer is final and handle the paperwork. We do not give disposal guidance on the web.
