What drives the number
  • New and unused surplus units in factory configurations move quickly.
  • 25 kV and 35 kV units bring more than 15 kV units.
  • Dead-front PSE units are in steadier demand than live-front PSI/II in many utility markets.
  • Missing fuse mountings, rust and damaged barriers reduce value.
  • We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
From the yard

Today's Federal Pacific is a division of Electro-Mechanical Corporation in Bristol, Virginia, building pad-mounted, metal-enclosed and custom switchgear through 38 kV. The company states it was the first to have pad-mounted switchgear Listed by UL using IEEE C37.74-2003 as the test specification. PSI/II offers 15 pre-engineered switching configurations and can combine up to two 600 A switches and four fused feeders in one enclosure. The model string on surplus listings, such as PSE-9-44222-K3, includes the configuration number and option codes.

Photos we need

Three photos price most Federal Pacific PSE and PSI/II pad-mounted switchgear offers.

01

The nameplate

Straight on and readable. Voltage, ratings, model, and serial in frame.

02

Inside

Doors open: bus, devices, controls, and anything burned or missing.

03

The whole unit

A wide shot plus what is around it, so we can plan the pick.

The nameplate is usually on the inside of a door or on the dead-front barrier. Shoot it straight on with the voltage class, BIL, continuous and interrupting ratings, and the model or catalog number in frame. On SF6 gear, photograph the pressure gauge too.
