What it is

Photograph the G&W nameplate with the full catalog number, which starts with PNI and includes a voltage code (376, 386 or 396). Add photos of the gas pressure gauge, the operating handles and the bushing side of the tank.

What drives the number
  • 35 kV units (code 396) and 25 kA interrupting ratings bring more than 15 kV, 12.5 kA units.
  • Tanks that hold pressure with intact gauges are worth more than units that have leaked.
  • Front/rear access versions are sought as drop-in replacements for older air or oil pad-mounted gear.
  • Complete overcurrent controls and any motor operators add value.
  • We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
From the yard

In the catalog numbers on G&W's PNI charts, the three-digit code after the first dash tracks the voltage class: 376 for 15 kV, 386 for 25 kV and 396 for 35 kV. The front/rear access PNI was designed with front operators and rear-entry bushings so it can replace existing air or oil insulated pad-mount equipment on the same pad. VPNI is the vault construction with top or bottom bushings. Fault protection is electronic and resettable, so there are no fuses to replace after an interruption.

Photos we need

Three photos price most G&W PNI SF6 pad-mounted switchgear offers.

01

The nameplate

Straight on and readable. Voltage, ratings, model, and serial in frame.

02

Inside

Doors open: bus, devices, controls, and anything burned or missing.

03

The whole unit

A wide shot plus what is around it, so we can plan the pick.

The nameplate is usually on the inside of a door or on the dead-front barrier. Shoot it straight on with the voltage class, BIL, continuous and interrupting ratings, and the model or catalog number in frame. On SF6 gear, photograph the pressure gauge too.

How selling works
  1. 01
    Send the nameplate

Photos or a list with counts. Text, email, or the form.

  2. 02
    We read it and reply

During business hours, by whatever contact method you picked.

  3. 03

Our truck and our rigging. Wire or ACH within 3 business days of a passed inspection.

Freight: Pad-mounted switchgear runs from roughly 2,000 to well over 6,000 pounds depending on ways and insulation. Most units lift from the base with a forklift or a truck-mounted crane and ride a flatbed. We plan the rigging. You tell us what is around the pad.
