Sell your Federal Pacific equipment.
Bristol, Virginia maker of dry-type transformers and medium voltage switchgear. Not the Federal Pacific breaker company.
Get an offerFederal Pacific on the nameplate
The company traces to a Bristol, Virginia electrical repair shop Frank Leonard opened in 1958, which became Electro-Mechanical in 1971.
In 1987 Electro-Mechanical bought the assets of the former Federal Pacific Electric dry-type transformer plant in Des Plaines, Illinois and moved them to Bristol, where it built transformers under the Federal Pacific Transformer name. It did not take on the Federal Pacific Electric breaker and panelboard business.
Graycliff Partners bought the company in 2021 and Oaktree Capital Management acquired it in 2024. In 2026 it consolidated its Line Power, Mirus and Powercon brands under the Federal Pacific name.
Reading the plate: Federal Pacific transformers come from Bristol, Virginia and are a separate business from the old Federal Pacific Electric breaker and panel line.
