What it is

The model is printed on the control front panel (for example CL-5E or CL-6A). Photograph the full front panel, the back panel wiring, and the regulator nameplate copy on the control enclosure door if the control is still in its cabinet.

What drives the number
  • Newer generations (CL-6 series and CL-7) are worth more than CL-4C and CL-5 series panels.
  • Complete controls with cabinet and control cable are worth more than a loose front panel.
  • Working condition matters for controls. Untested and failed panels are still bought.
  • Communication options installed (fiber, RS-232, RS-485 or Ethernet modules) add value.
  • We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
From the yard

The CL line evolved in steps: CL-2A, CL-4C, then the CL-5 series, which added a source-side voltage calculation and a reactive bi-directional mode between the CL-5A and CL-5C. The CL-6 series added settings for other makers' tap changers, so a CL-6 can be fitted to Siemens, GE and Howard regulators. Eaton sells a kit to convert pre-CL-6A control panels to a dead-front back panel, which is why two CL-6 panels can look different from the rear. The CL-7 can emulate CL-5D and CL-5E communications, which lets utilities drop it into older SCADA maps.

Photos we need

Three photos price most Cooper CL series voltage regulator control offers.

01

The nameplate

Straight on and readable. Voltage, ratings, model, and serial in frame.

02

Inside

Doors open: bus, devices, controls, and anything burned or missing.

03

The whole unit

A wide shot plus what is around it, so we can plan the pick.

The nameplate is on the tank wall. Photograph it straight on with the voltage, kVA, load current, and serial in frame, then photograph the control nameplate and display.

How selling works
  1. 01
    Send the nameplate

Photos or a list with counts. Text, email, or the form.

  2. 02
    We read it and reply

During business hours, by whatever contact method you picked.

  3. 03
    You get a written offer

Per unit or per lot. A range if we need to sample or test, firm after. Freight is in the number.

  4. 04
    We pick up and pay

Our truck and our rigging. Wire or ACH within 3 business days of a passed inspection.

Freight: Single-phase regulators commonly run from roughly 1,000 to over 4,000 pounds depending on rating. They ride flatbeds and lift from the lifting lugs. We plan it.
