The SDR controller's 7SR224 relay withdraws from its case for replacement, and the controller carries a 48-hour battery UPS. A mechanical operations counter on the switch unit keeps a count even if the controller is replaced or its electronic counter is reset. Siemens notes that if a non-Siemens controller is used, the controller vendor must coordinate it with the voltage sensors.
