The catalog number and serial number are on the nameplate on the stainless steel base. Photograph the nameplate, each pole's OPEN/CLOSED indicator, and confirm whether the control and communication modules are still in the base.

How to read a S&C IntelliRupter PulseCloser fault interrupter catalog number.
IntelliRupter catalog numbers start with 248, then a crossarm digit (1 = upright crossarm, 6 = compact crossarm), a disconnect digit (1 = without manual disconnect, 2 = with), a voltage digit (2 = 15.5 kV, 3 = 27 kV, 4 = 38 kV), and an actuator version such as R1. Suffixes after the dash code control group, power modules, arresters and options.
Not sure? Type it into the catalog lookup or text a photo of the label.
- Units with the protection and control module and communication module present are worth far more than a base without modules.
- Units with the integral disconnect are a more complete package than non-disconnect units.
- Complete, uninstalled new surplus units are the most sought after.
- Solid dielectric (Cypoxy) pole units mean no oil handling.
- We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
PulseClosing sends a short pulse to test the line for a fault before closing, instead of reclosing into it, which reduces stress on upstream equipment. The control and communication modules come out with a hookstick, so pulled units often arrive without them; always check the base. The unit is configured over Wi-Fi from a laptop, and a built-in GPS time-stamps events.

The label
The catalog number, straight on and in focus. For a pallet, one label per model plus a count.
The unit
Front, sides, and anything damaged. Doors open if it has them.
The lot
The whole pallet or shelf. New in box: the box labels.
The nameplate is on the recloser head or tank. Photograph it with the type, voltage, continuous current, and interrupting rating in frame. Photograph the control nameplate and the control face separately.
- 01Send the nameplate
Photos or a list with counts. Text, email, or the form.
- 02We read it and reply
During business hours, by whatever contact method you picked.
- 03You get a written offer
Per unit or per lot. A range if we need to sample or test, firm after. Freight is in the number.
- 04We pick up and pay
Our truck and our rigging. Wire or ACH within 3 business days of a passed inspection.
Freight: Single-phase hydraulic reclosers are light enough for a liftgate truck. Three-phase units and their frames need a forklift or crane. We plan it.
Selling a S&C IntelliRupter PulseCloser fault interrupter: what people ask.
Yes. Tell us which modules are present and we quote accordingly.
Yes. Crated new surplus units are in scope.
Yes. Send photos of the pedestals and anchor bolts.
Both. New surplus, used, untested, and failed all sell. Condition sets the number, not whether we buy.
Oil-filled units built before 1980 may contain PCBs. We sample before an offer is final and handle the paperwork. We do not give disposal guidance on the web.
