- Trident-SR units with magnetic actuators and complete relay packages bring more than manual spring-operated units.
- SafeVu visible-break units are in demand where crews want a visible open point.
- Submersible vault units in clean condition sell well into wet vault applications.
- Missing controls or damaged epoxy modules lower value.
- We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
Trident is G&W's no-gas, no-oil answer to SF6 pad-mounted gear: each vacuum interrupter is fully encapsulated in epoxy, so there is nothing to top up or leak. Trident-SR uses the same magnetic actuator technology as G&W's Viper reclosers and operates in about 3.5 cycles. Trident-SP is the single-phase version. SafeVu adds an integrated visible break disconnect in series with the vacuum interrupter, and units with SafeVu carry a 95 kV BIL at 15 kV.

The nameplate
Straight on and readable. Voltage, ratings, model, and serial in frame.
Inside
Doors open: bus, devices, controls, and anything burned or missing.
The whole unit
A wide shot plus what is around it, so we can plan the pick.
The nameplate is usually on the inside of a door or on the dead-front barrier. Shoot it straight on with the voltage class, BIL, continuous and interrupting ratings, and the model or catalog number in frame. On SF6 gear, photograph the pressure gauge too.
- 01Send the nameplate
Photos or a list with counts. Text, email, or the form.
- 02We read it and reply
During business hours, by whatever contact method you picked.
- 03You get a written offer
Per unit or per lot. Freight is in the number.
- 04We pick up and pay
Our truck and our rigging. Wire or ACH within 3 business days of a passed inspection.
Freight: Pad-mounted switchgear runs from roughly 2,000 to well over 6,000 pounds depending on ways and insulation. Most units lift from the base with a forklift or a truck-mounted crane and ride a flatbed. We plan the rigging. You tell us what is around the pad.
Selling a G&W Trident solid dielectric switchgear: what people ask.
No. Viper is G&W's recloser line. Trident-SR shares its magnetic actuator design but is pad-mounted or vault switchgear. We buy both.
Yes. We buy them complete or partial. Units with the original relay and wiring are worth more, so include them if you have them.
Yes, along with three-phase Trident-S, SR and ST units.
Both. New surplus, used, untested, and failed all sell. Condition sets the number, not whether we buy.
