What drives the number
  • AKD-20 lineups with EntelliGuard G breakers bring the highest offers.
  • AKD-10 lineups with WavePro breakers still trade well for spares and retrofits.
  • AKD-6 and AKD-8 gear is valued mostly through its AKR breakers and cells.
  • Entellisys lineups need their central control hardware intact to hold value.
  • We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
From the yard

The AKD generation tells you the breaker: AKD-6 came with AKR breakers in 1977, AKD-8 added the MVT-9 trip unit in 1980, AKD-10 brought WavePro in 1998, and AKD-20 arrived in 2008 with EntelliGuard G. GE launched the AK breaker in 1946 and the AKR in 1977; both are now obsolete. ABB took over GE Industrial Solutions in June 2018, so AKD-20 is now sold under ABB.

Photos we need

Three photos price most GE AKD low-voltage switchgear offers.

01

The nameplate

Straight on and readable. Voltage, ratings, model, and serial in frame.

02

Inside

Doors open: bus, devices, controls, and anything burned or missing.

03

The whole unit

A wide shot plus what is around it, so we can plan the pick.

The lineup nameplate is usually on the front of the main section. Each breaker has its own nameplate on the front escutcheon. One breaker plate per frame size plus the lineup plate is enough to price it.
