- kVA and primary voltage set demand.
- Fan packages and working temperature controllers add value.
- Cracked or tracked coils are a major deduction since a cast coil cannot be rewound in the field.
- Units still in a matched unit substation lineup can sell as a set.
- We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
Power-Cast was the first cast coil transformer to get a UL listing, which mattered for inspectors on indoor installs. Power-Cast II carries primary impulse ratings equal to liquid-filled transformers and needs no pre-drying before energizing. On removal, the coils are the whole value of the unit, so they should be protected from impact and kept dry in transit.
Three photos price most Square D Power-Cast cast coil transformer offers.
The nameplate
Straight on and readable. Voltage, ratings, model, and serial in frame.
Inside
Doors open: bus, devices, controls, and anything burned or missing.
The whole unit
A wide shot plus what is around it, so we can plan the pick.
Nameplate is on the enclosure frame. Photograph it plus each cast coil face through the enclosure. These units are bought heavily on visuals, so more photos is genuinely more money.

Freight: Comparable to MV dry-type but denser: a 1500 kVA pair can be 15,000 pounds of freight. Indoor removal from electrical rooms and penthouses is normal; send the route and we bring the plan.
Selling a Square D Power-Cast cast coil transformer: what people ask.
Yes. We buy the transformer alone or the full lineup. Send photos of the nameplate and each section.
Yes. We buy failed cast coil units for core and conductor value. A coil photo helps us quote it.
Cast coil transformers have no insulating oil. We still ask for the nameplate and site details before pickup.
Both. New surplus, used, untested, and failed all sell. Condition sets the number, not whether we buy.
