- MVA and primary voltage set demand.
- Units built to ANSI and IEEE for North America are easier to place in the US than IEC-only units.
- Cracks or tracking on the resin are a major deduction.
- Fans and a working temperature monitor add value.
- We do not publish prices. Metal, demand, and condition move them. You get a written number for your unit.
Siemens Energy builds GEAFOL at its Kirchheim, Germany plant and reports more than 150,000 units made since 1966. Many are IEC designs, so check the nameplate standard and frequency before assuming a unit drops into a 60 Hz ANSI system. The windings are cast under vacuum, so damage to the resin cannot be patched in the field.

The nameplate
Straight on and readable. Voltage, ratings, model, and serial in frame.
Inside
Doors open: bus, devices, controls, and anything burned or missing.
The whole unit
A wide shot plus what is around it, so we can plan the pick.
Nameplate is on the enclosure frame. Photograph it plus each cast coil face through the enclosure. These units are bought heavily on visuals, so more photos is genuinely more money.

Our truck and our rigging. Wire or ACH within 3 business days of a passed inspection.
Freight: Comparable to MV dry-type but denser: a 1500 kVA pair can be 15,000 pounds of freight. Indoor removal from electrical rooms and penthouses is normal; send the route and we bring the plan.
Selling a Siemens GEAFOL cast resin transformer: what people ask.
Yes. Send the nameplate and we check frequency, voltage and standard before we quote.
Yes. We buy failed cast resin units for core and conductor value.
Yes. Send photos of the room, the access path and the unit, and we plan rigging before pickup.
Both. New surplus, used, untested, and failed all sell. Condition sets the number, not whether we buy.
