Hammond casts these in mineral-filled epoxy with fiberglass reinforcement around copper or aluminum conductors. UL 1562 listing covers units up to 3 MVA, so larger units carry CSA or project-specific approval. Like any cast coil, a damaged coil cannot be repaired by re-dipping.
