About Siemens

Siemens breakers come out of residential load centers, S-series and P-series panelboards, and Sentron molded case frames in switchboards. Older industrial gear in the same family tree may carry ITE or Siemens-Allis labels.

The Sentron frames (ED, FD, JD, LD, MD, ND) cover 15A through 1200A and turn up constantly as panel and switchboard takeouts.

Read the catalog number

Siemens Sentron catalog numbers put the voltage class inside the series name, then poles, then a trip letter, then amps. ED63B100 reads ED6 (600V frame), 3-pole, B (standard thermal-magnetic), 100A. Plug-in and bolt-on breakers are simpler: Q120 is 1-pole 20A, B250 is 2-pole 50A.

On Sentron frames the prefix climbs base, H, HH, then C: ED6, HHED6, CED6. Same physical frame, higher interrupting rating.

The Sentron type (ED6, FXD6, JXD6) is printed on the face separately from the full catalog number. Get both in the photo.
